HomeDesigner stores your work locally by default. If you choose Google Sign-In, your plans are also encrypted in transit and stored in our private cloud storage so you can open them on your other signed-in Android devices. We do not run ads or behavioural analytics.
The community forum at homedesignerapp.com/community is part of the website, not
the mobile app. Reading it requires no account and no sign-in. Posting requires Google
Sign-In, and creates a forum profile holding a handle, a display name, an optional short bio
and, only if you choose to upload one, a profile picture. HomeDesigner does not automatically
import or publish your Google profile photo.
Anything you post is public. Your posts, attached screenshots, your handle, your display name, your profile picture and your bio are visible to anyone on the internet and to search engines. Your email address and your Google account identifier are never shown to other users. We still do not run ads or behavioural analytics — the forum sets no tracking cookies and embeds nothing from anyone else.
Posts you report are checked by an automated content classifier to help us triage them. It only sorts our moderation queue; it never removes anything on its own. A person makes every moderation decision.
Deleting your account deletes your forum profile, your discussions and your replies along with your designs.
Projects you create are saved in the app's local storage on your device (or in your browser, for the web version). Files you export — project files, plan images, PDFs and renders — are written to the location you choose. Deleting the app (or clearing browser site data) deletes the local copy. Signed-in cloud copies remain available until you use Delete cloud backups in Settings or ask us to delete them.
When you sign in, Google provides your stable account identifier and may provide your name, email address and profile image. The app uses the identifier to separate your private plan files from every other user's files. Plan snapshots, project names, thumbnails and deletion timestamps are stored in a private Cloudflare R2 bucket. Google identity tokens are verified by our Cloudflare Worker and are not stored. The optional Pro upgrade can be bought in two places, and they involve different companies. In the Android app the purchase is processed by Google Play. On the web it is processed by Stripe (Stripe privacy policy) through a checkout page hosted by RevenueCat. We never see or store your card details in either case.
Either way, a record of the purchase is held by our billing provider, RevenueCat (RevenueCat privacy policy), so we can recognise it and restore it across your devices. If you sign in, the purchase is linked to a namespaced version of your stable Google account identifier so Pro access follows you to your other devices. It is not used for advertising.
The Android app requests no permissions beyond basic internet access, which is used only for account authentication, plan synchronisation, purchase verification and downloading optional 3D furniture models.
HomeDesigner is a general-audience app and is not directed to children.
